In a video like this one, we can see how the emotional and rational appeals are shown in order to persuade us. For example, in this video we can see how a couple had a car crash due to an imprudent act, and how the family remembered the good times that the couple had before the accident happened. This example is part of the emotional appeal. Also, there is a rational appeal that teach us that driving drunk can have serious consequences, and that if you drink and drive, you are not so smart.

I really liked this video for all the things that I wrote before. I hope that you can see it, and that you can think twice before you drive if you drank.

Evolution of Communication

Hi guys,

Here is an interesting video that shows part of the history of human kind communication as well as the different way we have created based on our necessity to communicate events or to simply be in contact with others.

Enjoy it.

Hello Mr. VegaI tried to upload this to the blog but I could not, for this reason I am sending you this via e-mail.

This is the link of the video that I chose http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiZkPmElJaY&list=WL5MMTcDTakU--N51EeaXdfMf7s2bHTvZM
"Assurance Wireless national ad.wmv"

This ad uses logic and emotional elements because:
First of all, the introductory image of this ad is an elder woman who expreses  gratitude and fragility, as well as she modulates her tone of voice ,and also pauses when it is needed to give emphasis to her points.
Second, the narrator in the video gives a pieces of information about the service of the company. It is important to read the paragraph at the bottom of the screen so you know that the service is limited to eligibility .
Third, there is a casual reasoning type. There´s a couple who share a testimony about how they could use their AS-W free cellphone to help other people by calling the 9-1-1 line, in this way the company conveys the importance of having a cellphone. It is a fact that if a person has a heart attack it is crucial to have a cellphone to call 9-1-1, so if there is any emergency you will need a cellphone.
To conclude the narrator says that Assurance Wireless is created to make you conected to the people who can help you move forwards in life which is a pure emotional slogan. In addition to make a strong conclusion there is a cellphone at the end of the ad with contact info. next to it.

Speech analysis “Keep your goals for yourself by Derek Silvers”

Hello teacher Alonso Vega, I am attaching the video analysis and the link ,so you may check it if you like to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHopJHSlVo4Regards, Abigail Molina

I enjoyed his tone of voice definitively it was what caught my attention at first. The structural components such as the first question he asked left me thinking a couple of seconds, and that was a nice hook , besides that he made it when he did not try to make a statement as a joke ,but he made the audience laugh; in addition he encourages the audience to image something and to visualize things in their minds, at the beginning and in the end he uses an appealing body language to create a comfortable click with the listeners. The spark in his eye was also a plus for the mechanical component.
The grammar structures were perfect, as well as  the tone of voice, he made the pauses were they were supposed to be made ,yet almost at the end he hurried up a little bit. The clarity of his voice gave the message of his speech more value for me, because the words were clear and he did not hesitate while talking.

The emotional components were made of a combination of facts, a research and a good message persuading people not to tell others your personal goals ,in this way you are more likely to achieve them.

Hello Guys! I want to share this video with you. He´s Marc Elliot and he has Tourette Syndrome. Honestly i love everything about him. He knows how to get people´s attention and how to speak in public. His body language is great, he uses a question as an attention getter, and he wants to inform people about Tourette Syndrome and how to deal with it. Hope you enjoy it.

I liked this video because of the way how he spoke, the  intonation, also the fluency that he had since he talked naturaly. I can say that his body language is good but at the beginnig he spoke with his hands in the pockets. That was something that caught my attention. In general the movements that he made were excelent.
